🔴Sitabhog and Mihidana became famous all over India after the arrival of Lord Curzon in Burdwan.
🔴Burdwan is the birthplace of two desserts Sitabhog and Mihidana.
🔴Sitabhog was made from Sitashol rice. Sitabhog is a popular dessert that looks like pulao with mini gulab jamun. The mini gulab jamuns are called the 'Nikhutis'.
🔴Mihidana comprises two words, ‘Mihi’, which means fine and ‘Dana’, which means grain. Mihidana also found in 'Pagla Dashu' stories of Sukumar Roy.
🔴Coincidentally, both Sitabhog and Mihidana were created by the same person Late Khettranath Nag.
🔴The Burdwan desserts got its GI Tag of West Bengal on 29th April 2017.
